We are now building on 5 years experience of production and currently supply wholesalers who deliver mussels, cockles and oysters to outlets in the South of England, the Cotswolds and the Peak District.
Full size mussels are generally supplied in 5, 10 or 20kg nets.
We aim to take them out of the purification tanks and despatch them to you on the same day if possible, maximising their shelf life.
Each bag is capped with crushed ice to help keep the mussels cold and wet. If they dry, or are dried by refrigerated air, they will gradually weaken, open and start to die. Crushed ice will help to keep them in excellent condition during the delivery process.
Each net is tagged with a label detailing the batch number of the shellfish and the date it was despatched.
The “B” Grade waters of the River Exe are tested monthly by East Devon District Council and all mussels, cockles and oysters go through a 42 hour
purification process before despatch.
We pride ourselves on supplying shellfish that have been carefully farmed, efficiently processed and packed by hand to ensure that the highest
level of quality has been attained.
